A client centered approach

I am located in Ottawa Ontario, Canada, providing counselling remotely via video call. I am a Registered Professional Counsellor Candidate (RPC-C) with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA).

As a Certified Trauma Professional I use a person centered approach. I support people navigating life transitions, overcoming obstacles and challenges. I assist them to achieve their desired life paths by helping them identify their strengths while providing support in re-authoring the stories, values or beliefs that no longer serve them. I also assist couples who are struggling with distress, communication or conflict while improving connection and creating a secure bond within the relationship.

My cultural background of Indigenous and Irish descent has given me the valuable perspective on how culture, society and diversity, among many other factors, can influence the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

When suffering emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress, I had feelings of being overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet the daily demands of life. I realized I was suffering from burnout and chose the support of counselling as a tool to help positively shift my beliefs and values through my burnout recovery. This experience prompted my career transition into the field of professional counselling.
